- Decorated Vietnam Veteran, February 1969-April 1970

  - Bronze Start with V-Device for Valor
  - Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palms & Clusters
  - 2 Army Commendation Medals for Outstanding Duty & Performance
  - Presidential & Unit Citations
  - Expert Rifleman
  - Badge/M16 Rifle
Firefighter - City of New Haven Fire Department, 1976-2006
- Several Times Decorated for Bravery/Unit Citations for Saving Lives

Over 40 years of experience and have competed in all disciplines, rifle, pistol, and shotgun, as well as combat and defence style shooting with pistol, rifle, and shotgun.

- Shotgun - Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays
- Rifle - Slowfire Paper Bullseye and Tactical, Steel, and Paper Engagements, Short and Long Rifle
- Pistol - Started with International Metallic Silhouette Association
- Shooting from 50 to 200 yards
  - IDPA and IPSC Defensive and Combat Style Shooting Events
  - Steel Challange, Falling Plates, Bowling Pin Shoots
